Very pleasant opening scene I must say, but it gets bloody pretty quick there, and a little strange.
Nice to see Sid Haig playing a role as the owner of a local road side shop loaded with cryptozoological treats like statues of strange hybrid creatures, footprint casts, and such. One item is a framed sign for a local attraction, the Grimley house, with a tagline, "Built out of Blood."
A couple of on-leave Marines and their friend, on a road trip with their girls, stop by the shop and learn about the Grimley legend. One of them, the friend, decides it would be a fun idea to go check the house out. A mistake, as you might guess. But without young people wandering where they shouldn't we'd have no horror movies.
He apparently knows all about the legend, and tells his friends about it. He also commended to Chopper (Haig) in the shop that his father had an interest in odd legends and lore. Something to keep in mind as you watch the story unfold.
In a little steal from House of 1000 Corpses, Sid Haig, as Chopper, draws the group a map to the site of the Grimley cabin. If you've seen the Rob Zombie movie you'll recall when Haig, as Captain Spaulding, "wrote 'em a map" to the Devil's Tree.
We learn that one among the group has ulterior motives, and after the group settles in to camp near the Grimley cabin, things begin to get stranger. A couple of the girls go missing and it is suspected that the Creature nabbed them. Only we know what's really happening, and what our protagonists are really pitted against.
With a fitting title, this film is a backwoods creature feature with a mishmash of themes, blending twisted, inbred cult activity and sacrifice. A nice horror romp.
The finale has an adept Marine pitted against the Creature. Will he succeed in stopping the terror that reigns in this isolated swamp? His girl is pulled into a sinkhole by the creature, and the Marine dives head first after her. Semper Fi.
With a cliché twist in the end, we learn what happens to one of the missing girls, and what might be to come...
The film is pretty good, with some good action and some scare scenes, good production values. The special effects are great, with monster that looks, and kinda moves like, a cross between the Creature from the Black Lagoon and a Sasquatch.
I actually enjoyed Creature. It's an alright horror flick, in a kinda bad, but not too bad kinda way.

Films to Look Forward to This Fall
As the summer movie season fades away, many are looking forward to the new releases in the fall. Audiences are sure to enjoy some family fun, an old favorite and an action-filled romp or two. Some of today's biggest stars are heading to the big screen, and here is a look at what to expect.
Finding Nemo
Disney has given the animated classic a makeover and enhanced this family favorite with eye-popping 3D imagery. Children everywhere will be begging parents to find the lovable clown fish one more time. This is one of Disney and Pixar's most successful films, and it is sure to draw massive audiences to the theater.
Looper
Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt headline this unconventional action thriller. The movie is set in the future, where time travel has been outlawed. Only secret agents and members of the mob are able to use it. Gordon-Levitt is a looper, a special assassin who kills and disposes of targets from the future. Everything is fine until the young killer is faced with his toughest target yet; himself. Director Rian Johnson was concerned about the lack of resemblance between the film's two stars, and Gordon-Levitt spent hours in a makeup chair each day being transformed into a young Bruce Willis. This film was selected to open the Toronto Film Festival and is sure to be a major draw this fall.
Frankenweenie
As the title suggests, this children's film is a new take on a horror classic. When young Victor's dog passes away, the budding scientific genius brings little Sparky back to life. This is an homage to the Mary Shelley classic, complete with lightning, Igor, memorable characters and some nonstop adventure. Directed by Tim Burton, this movie was intentionally shot in black and white and bears the filmmaker's signature style. Martin Short, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara are among the celebrities lending their voices to this clever twist on the Frankenstein tale.
Paranormal Activity 4
October brings out some scary characters, and "Paranormal Activity 4" ready to deliver the fright. Directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman return for this sequel that is sure to terrify moviegoers this Halloween season. Producer Oren Peli has been tight-lipped about the movie's plot, but speculation has run rampant. Fans of the series are expecting the most terrifying film yet.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2
The time has come to bid farewell to Edward, Bella and Jacob. This highly-anticipated film is the final chapter in the "Twilight" series. Audiences have been eager to see Bella's transformation into a glistening undead being, and this film is sure to pack the theaters. Audiences can expect the usual werewolf and vampire action, but author and co-producer Stephenie Meyer has added a few twists and surprises. This last installment of the record-breaking series is sure to delight fans and is one of the most anticipated films of the fall season.
Wreck-It Ralph
Rich Moore, a former animation director of The Simpsons and Futurama, has teamed up with Walt Disney Animation Studios to create this animated comedy. Fix-It Felix Jr. is a computer game reminiscent of the old Donkey Kong style arcade games of the 1980s, and Ralph is the villain. For over 30 years, he has been pounding, thumping, crashing and destroying, and he has had enough. Tired of being the bad guy, Ralph sets out on a journey to find his true self and prove that he has what it takes to be a hero. Of course, things don't go smoothly, and Ralph is faced with obstacles, big and small, that may impact more than just his destiny. John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman voice the main characters in this original family comedy.
Rise of the Guardians
Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, families and a new release from Dreamworks. The studio has been sticking with its formula of releasing two films a year, one in the summer and one in the fall. "Rise of the Guardians" is based on the popular children's books by William Joyce. Chris Pine voices the main character, Jack Frost, who is a carefree boy with a wintery touch. When the Nightmare King, brought to life by Jude Law, unleashes his evil plan, only a few select heroes can stop him. Jack, the Easter bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman band together and attempt to save the world. Isla Fisher, Hugh Jackman and Alec Baldwin also lend voices to this epic tale of good versus evil, which will also be available in stunning 3D.
When the days become shorter and the sunshine begins to fade, movie-goers head to the cinema to escape reality and have some popcorn. With an assortment of films to choose from, this fall movie season is sure to break box office records and take audiences on new and exciting adventures.

Disney's Top Five Princesses
Throughout Disney's expansive movie collection, it has developed a number of princesses in its storylines that has become dear to people's hearts. Picking just a handful for a list is quite a task. Through an analysis of the combination of popularity, impact, sales and movie reviews, this list pulls up five princesses almost anyone will recognize.
5. Ariel, from "The Little Mermaid"
This underwater redhead combined the appeal of rebelling against restrictive authority with the draw of giving up everything she could at a chance for love. Ariel was a dreamer, an explorer, an archaeologist, a romantic and a free spirit. She is one of the two princesses in this list that started a spin-off series on the Disney Channel, but the series was relatively short-lived.
Out of all of the top five princesses, she is certainly the most musically inclined. Even though every Disney movie features a good amount of musical numbers, much of the first half of the movie is spent with Ariel singing to highlight the sacrifice she makes in giving up her voice.
Without the huge success of "The Little Mermaid," two of the princesses in this list might not even have made it into theaters. She might be at the bottom of this top five, but with stiff competition, it is no small achievement.
4. Belle, from "Beauty and the Beast"
It takes a person with a truly pure heart to look through the exterior of a person and see the prince within the monster. That is the main quality that elevates Belle to the top tier of Disney princesses. Belle also manages to capture the hearts of those who serve the Beast, making her one of the only princesses to show off her leadership potential.
For some reason, Belle simply does not have the draw of the other princesses. This might be due to her brown hair and eyes, which makes her famous ballroom gown the primary way of identifying her from any other similar character.
3. Jasmine, from "Aladdin"
The odd one of the bunch, Jasmine was actually born a princess. Despite her prestigious birth, she can be related to fairly easily. She is a bird in a cage, like so many young girls are: beautiful, ready to go out and explore, but kept locked away from the outside world. She fights to keep herself from being married off to a suitor looking to gain the prestige of marrying a princess and only falls in love when someone truly compatible with her appears.
Her clothes are amazing throughout the original movie, its sequels and its animated series. Her exotic appeal makes her stand out, and her fiery attitude and snappy retorts give some heat to the princess line-up.
2. Snow White, from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves"
The oldest princess on the list by date of the film's release, Snow White has aged wonderfully. Many characters released now might be forgotten in a couple of years, but Snow White has been going strong since before World War II. The timeless fairytale-turned-movie has been shown, remade, re-mastered, re-released and given more special editions than almost any other Disney movie.
Snow White is so pure and innocent that animals flock to her and sing, the dwarves take her in without much fuss and she trusts even the old hag who comes around giving out apples. Her innocence makes her vulnerable, but she earns her right to a princess crown when a kiss brings her back from what seems like death.
1. Cinderella, from "Cinderella"
The story of Cinderella has everything that could possibly appeal to a hard working young girl. Cinderella is underappreciated by her cruel stepmother and two stepsisters despite the fact that she does the work of a maid and housekeeper. The only friends she has in the world are a few animals, until one magical evening when she gets to be a princess for the night. Before she can run away for the night, she captures the heart of the prince so completely that he embarks on a search for her. Even then, she continues to prove that you just cannot keep a good person down as she fights her stepmothers' efforts to keep her from the prince.
With a strong work ethic, blonde hair and sparkling white outfit, Cinderella leaves no doubt in people's mind that she is a princess when they see her. This sits her right at the top of the pinnacle of Disney's foremost princesses.

Five Of The Best Car Chases In Movie History
There is a highly scientific reason why car chases are so popular in films - because they are awesome! However, narrowing down the top five car chases in movie history isn't such an easy decision. The following car chases are all exciting to watch and whilst the films themselves may not always be that great, the chase scenes are more than worth the two hours or so that the films last.
The Blues Brothers
The Blues Brothers (the original) is one of the best films to hit the cinemas... ever! The story follows Elwood and Jake Blues as they are headed home to Chicago, just over 100 miles away. What follows is one of the craziest car chases to ever have been recorded on film as not only do the Illinois State Police join the boys trail but so do the Chicago State Police and some Good Ol' Boys. In its prime this movie held the record for the highest number of police cars to be destroyed in a film; the record was only broken by the remake in 2000.
Gone In 60 Seconds
Now we all know that Gone in 60 Seconds is one of the worst movies ever made but if you ever happen to catch a scene from it, make sure (if you can) that it's the last chase scene. The first hour or so of the film is pretty confusing, and boring, yet the car chase in this film lasts for a whopping 34 minutes... but then what would you expect from a film that was written, directed and starred in by stunt man H B Halicki.
The Italian Job
Released in 1969, this British film was all about the perfect heist and the three cars in the film were as much stars as lead man Michael Caine. Create the biggest traffic jam you could imagine in Turin, steal a gold bullion consignment and escape in cars that were just small enough to manoeuvre through the traffic. This car chase consisted of them driving through sewer pipes, down stairs, through shopping centres and over roofs - pure class!
The French Connection
If you like trains almost as much as cars, you will love the car chase in the French Connection. In this film detective Popeye Doyle is trying to chase an assassin only to watch him jump onto a speeding train. Well I'm sure you can guess what happens but it involves Doyle breaking almost every traffic code known to man in order to keep up with the train - definitely worth watching!
The Bourne Identity
This may not be to everyone's taste but as soon as we see Jason Bourne asking Marie how the tyres on her car are and whether she takes care of it you know that there is going to be some serious driving to follow.Viewers won't be disappointed as Bourne then darts through alleys, through the traffic of Paris and down stairways before getting away yet again.

If you prefer to give attendees the chance to provide feedback after the event, you could use e-mail, phone or the event website. Set-up a registration table and gather e-mail information to send an online survey, or make an announcement inviting guests to call and take the survey by phone. If your event has a website or Facebook page, post a survey there.

Harry Potter the Famous Series of Eight Films
Everything went on very slowly for Harry potter at the beginning. When a copy of the first book of the series was received in the office of film producer David Heyman, he left it in a low priority bookshelf. It was seen by a secretary and she read it. Impressed by the book she informed Heyman about it. Heyman read the book and realized its potential. This is where things started rolling on.
Due to the enthusiasm shown by Heyman, J. K. Rowling the author of the series of books decided to sell movie rights for her first four books to Warner Brothers for a reported sum of one million pounds. The next challenge was to find a director. Steven Spielberg was the first man to have been approached but he has declined the offer. After going through lots of searches Chris Columbus was appointed to direct the first film and the appointment was made on March 28, 2000.
The next big hurdle was to find the two boys and the girl to be in the cast of the first film. While David Heyman was seated in a theater, he saw Daniel Radcliffe sitting just behind him. He was picked up and tested in the studio to find that he was the perfect fit for the lead role. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were selected later and the cast was ready.
All the films of the Harry Potter series were produced by David Heyman. Chris Columbus directed the first two of the series. Tanya Seghatchian was the director for the next two. Chris Columbus has become a co-producer by this time. Lionel Wilgram was the director for the final three films. Half-Blood Prince was the sixth in the series and it was the most expensive one to produce.
Except the fifth film, the screen plays of all the Harry Potter films were written by Steve Kloves. The same for the fifth one was written by Michael Goldenberg. Though there were minor differences between the book and the screenplay, all three, book, screenplay and the movie were all the same all the time. In interviews with the press and websites David Heyman has appreciated the support given by Rowling to make it so.
Stuart Craig was the production designer and he did the job for all eight films. Photography was looked after by eight different directors. Music for the series was produced by four composers. June 12, 2010 was the day the last Harry Potter film was finished with its filming.
